I am a Canadian woman in her early 40's. I am an incurable romantic with an annoyingly practical side. I am slightly non-traditional, but try not to be in your face about it.
I am an environmental educator, a scout leader, and a civil servant. I hunt, I fish, I hike, I enjoy photography. I am a professional forester, a certified arborist, and a certified cutter-skidder operator. I can tango in 3" stilettos. I also enjoy sewing, baking, and making jewellery.
I am fascinated by psychology, including evolutionary psychology.

I was actively training martial arts for 20 years, but have been slowed down by some injuries and health issues. I belly dance, and I used to Morris Dance as well.
I am of Irish heritage, with a wee bit of German thrown in, and rumours of a Romani back a few generations ... My Great-Grandma had what she preferred to think of as very strong intuition, amazing instincts, and strange coincidences seemed to happen around her on a regular basis ... and these things seem to carry through the female line of the family.
I have a large heart, which sometimes gets me into trouble ... but it is not something I would change about myself.
For 25 years I loved a Canadian soldier, the Wolf. We met while both still in high school. The Wolf started as an infanteer, and then later became an airman. The Wolf has seen some things in his life which have left him bitter, jaded, angry ... and suffering from PTSD. He is also an alcoholic. In 2009, just before deploying to the sandbox, he ended our relationship. In retrospect, it had been severely unhealthy before that, but it took me a long time to come to terms with that. In some ways, I still am. And in some ways, despite being afraid of him, and not trusting him ... I still love him. Unfortunately, I now have a “no contact” order against the Wolf both through his CoC and local LEOs.

After the Wolf ended our relationship, a good friend introduced me to Sebastian. Sebastian is a "PTSD Survivor". Sebastian is also an active duty regular force soldier. We had an incredibly close bond that defied other's need to put in in a box or label it. In the late winter of 2012 a series of events caused a flare up in Sebastian's (S's) PTSD, and he cut me out of his life. I am still hurt and confused by his decision, and I still hope that some day, we will be able to talk and reconcile some of the hurt.
I remain a strong supporter of the military, and military families.
This is my story, my thoughts on life, and, often, my place to think out loud.
