Happy (American) Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

In the spirit of being thankful for what I can, and taking every opportunity to try to recognize it, here is what I am Thankful for today, in no particular order:

~ that my dad is sill around to celebrate his 84th birthday this weekend - go dad!
~ that he has my beautiful niece to celebrate it with, and he has had a chance to know her, and she him
~ that I have had the chance to personally know so many of the brave men and women who do their part for our country, and the world, through their service in the Armed Forces
~ that modern technology lets me have semi-regular communication with a very special member of that group, even though he is far away from me right now
~ that the aforementioned special guy exits, and that we were brought together and have had a chance to know each other
~ that I have a job I *mostly* love, which allows me a comfortable life style
~ that I have many true friends, both "real life" and on-line, who support me and share their lives with me
~ that I have had 14 wonderful years with my fur-child, and she shows no signs of slowing down yet
~ that I live in a country that allows me, a woman, to have all the opportunities I do
~ that I live in a country that allows me access to health care so that I can live the most productive, fullfilling life I can, in spite of a few challenges
