Crow reminds us to learn to trust our intuition and personal integrity, to create our own standards, whether or not they match those of the world around us...It is said that in the courtship process the male crow's voice takes on a singing quality. This tells us what the basis of sacred law is. There is one unfailing principle by which we can test our principles, that of unconditional love.

Creepies (Fear Friday)
So of course, the Wolf keeps offering to send me home one of these:
That would be a Camel Spider. Their Scientific name translates to "Those Who Flee From The Sun". I suggested garlic and a wooden stake. Sgt Chimo reports that the preferred method is a flame thrower.
I made a face book comment about Camel Spiders, and another friend pointed out to me this lovely creature: Camel Crickets ( aka Spider Crickets, Sand Treaders).
Now I am normally fond of insects and arthropods, with the general exception of spiders, ticks, and centipedes (although I don't mind harvest men (daddy-long-legs) and I think millipedes rock). But there are some thing in the world that just creep me out.

Dang, all the creepy things I saw in Iraq had 2 legs---most with beards and wearing a "man dress"
ReplyDeleteAfter watching Spike TV's "Deadliest Warriors", I wanted some ballistic Gel dummies and some dead piggies to "play with my toys" on; but maybe if I ask nice, the Wolf would send me home some 2 legged creepies to "play" with.
ReplyDeleteOh never mind, the bleeding hearts here would allege torture ... its not nice to package them up and ship them Canada Post ...
Oh dear friend, you post any pictures of centipedes on your site, and you'll be officially removed from my blog list.
ReplyDeleteJoking ... love you. I loath camel spiders. Horrible creatures.
